How to use 'Select Chain' option in Class Selection 

Solution

1.  Set your selection filter to 'Curve'.
2.  To define the direction of your chain, be sure to pick on the other side of the midpoint of the first curve.
3.  After you've made your first selection, the Select Chain option will be available to enable. 
Once the option is enabled, you can select the last curve of the chain and all connected curves should highlight.
