In NX: File > Save > Save As: "Dependent File Save As option" setting to "None" does not work for UGPART

Solution

The "Dependent File Save As" option is not to avoid to save a dataset (e.g UGPART (drawing)) under an Item Revision.

Dependent Files Save As option: Lets you also copy dependent files for the master and non-master items being saved, such as a .jpeg file for a drawing. The dependent files are copied and saved with the applicable dataset. Depended files are all files that are also under the named reference of the dataset. User can upload to named references several files e.g. txt, jpg, cgm dxf and then the option is working.

If there are no depended files, NX ignores the setting. User needs to configure the deep copy rules in BMIDE against their demands (see NX Help).

In the Teamcenter BMIDE, if you select the isRequired property (set to TRUE) for a non-master dataset type in the deepCopyRule, then the non-master dataset must be copied. This functionality is applied even if you have other NX settings selected, such as the Save No Non-Masters preference in the Teamcenter Integration Preferences. If the isRequired property is not selected (set to FALSE), then you have the option to select the non-master datasets to be copied.
