When using Design Manager to copy (save as) files into a common folder, if two parts have the same name (that are in different folders), the copy cannot be completed until the duplicate files have been de-selected or the destination name has been changed.
Are there any tools or tricks to circumvent this issue?
Solution
You can use "Pack and Go" to do this...
- open the assembly in Design Manager
- select Pack and Go
- set the option to 'Copy all files to a single folder'
- specify the common folder to copy the files into
When you click Save you will be warned that duplicate file names exist and that unique names will be created. Click OK to proceed.
