NX Set Default Font for NX CAM Engraving

The default font has to be changed when creating a note for NX CAM Engraving.

Solution

Steps to creating a custom standard template for NX CAM:

• Go to 'File-->Utilities-->Customer Defaults'.

• Select 'Drafting-->General Setup'.

Note: The "Customize Drafting Standard  - ISO" dialog is displayed.

• Select 'Common-->Lettering'.

• Select the 'Lettering' tab-->From "Text Parameters" group...type "yourdesiredfont" for the desired parameter. (Replace "yourdesiredfont" with the actual font needed.)

Note: You must know the exact name of the font...no dropdown is available

• Select "Save As" from the bottom right of the dialog box.

The "Save As Drafting Standard" dialog displays. 

• Input custom name.

• Select "Apply" and Cancel the dialog box.

• Select 'Menu-->Tools-->Drafting Standard...'.

Note: The "Standard" being used is displayed.

• Test the Default
  • Select Application Drafting.
  • Cancel when the "Sheet" dialog box is displayed.
  • Select "Note" from the "Annotation" group on the "Ribbon".

• Select "Settings" from the "Note" dialog box.

The font default is now "blockfont".
