Summary

Details

Design Manager's Pack and Go does not appear to work correctly. The folder structure is not maintained although the setting "Maintain Folder Structure" was defined. The assembly files get stored at the wrong location.

The Assembly data is located on a Network location which was added with "Map Network Drive" on the client system.

Solution

This will cause the Design Manager's "Pack and Go" functionality to not maintain the Folder structure correctly.  Using "Add Network location" will maintain the folder structure. The destination folders and subfolders of the Assembly data will then be correctly created and files located to them.

Additional information: The Windows mapped drives technology dates back to Windows 3.1 and there are known issues with it.  Microsoft later introduced Universal Naming Convention (UNC) as a replacement to mapped drives with Add Network Location.  We recommend, especially with the use of the Design Manager, to setup the connection to the data with "Add network location" and the UNC Path.
