Details

When a linear path is created from a routing control point to a location in space at the top assembly level of a multi-level assembly, the assembly constraint is created under top assembly, but in what order?

Consider below assembly structure:

Solution

The constraint is created to SUBC because that is the topmost assembly level of the port occurrence in the part with the control point. The constraint data under the hood uses the port occurrence in TOP and the owning component of that occurrence (SUBC) to know what to move during a solve.

So, if you moved the control point, the solver will have to move SUBC. It would not be allowed to move SUBD inside of SUBC or PORT2 inside of SUBD.
