Details

As functionality of MDF Only Elements is transferred to full User Interface (UI) support in newer releases, MDF Only Elements are not converted into UI supported elements when opening existing simulation files in a newer release. This can have limitations in functionality and create a disorganized simulation with some elements in the Motion Navigator and some elements of the same type in the MDF Only Elements dialog box.

Solution

Elements that must exists as MDF Only Elements in a previous version will remain as MDF Only Elements in a newer version in which those elements have UI support. The most simple way to convert these elements into full UI elements is to use the convert button in the MDF Only Elements dialog box. This is located under the delete element button shown here:


This will remove the element from the list. It will not translate into the Motion Navigator until after hitting the OK button. An information window will then appear with the status of the conversion and the element will appear in the Motion Navigator when successful.
