Solid Edge Solid Edge 2020 - Change to Common Licensing Toolkit

Dear Solid Edge Customer,
 
Solid Edge 2020 will soon be available for download. The Software Product Distribution (SPD) team are working on running the scripts that will update all customers with an active maintenance contract to v220. This process will also send the updated v220 license file to your primary contact as well as archiving the updated license for download on the License Management page.
 
IMPORTANT:
All customers are affected by changes to Solid Edge 2020 licensing.
 
Licensing for Solid Edge 2020 and higher versions is based on the Siemens PLM Common Licensing Toolkit (CLT) and UGSLMD license daemon. Licensing for Solid Edge 2020 and onward will now provide a consistent experience for customers with multiple Siemens PLM products.
 
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Solid Edge 2020 licenses (Server Managed/Floating or Standalone/Node-Locked) are NOT backward compatible with Solid Edge 2019 and earlier releases. During this transition, your Solid Edge 2019 license file is still valid for Solid Edge 2019 and earlier versions.
 
Solid Edge 2020 and higher versions server managed / floating configurations now utilize the UGSLMD license daemon. Therefore, you must install the FLEXnet License Manager delivered with Solid Edge 2020 or higher and configure using lmtools.exe.
 
STANDALONE / NODE-LOCKED USERS
To apply the license file:

• Save the attached file (SELicense.lic) to a location on your local system or a network drive that you have permission to access.
• Run the Solid Edge License Utility

Start Menu > Siemens Solid Edge [release] > License Utility

• Select the option "I have a License file"
• Click the Browse… button
• Navigate to the location where you saved the SELicense.lic file
• Click on the SELicense.lic file
• Click Open
• Click OK to complete

 
SERVER MANAGED / FLOATING USERS
Solid Edge 2020 no longer supports standard Solid Edge Server Dongle or Unique Host-ID (MAC address) licensing methods. All Solid Edge Server Dongle and Unique Host-ID licenses will be replaced with a standard CLT Composite ID license.
 
With the release of Solid Edge 2020, you will receive a 30-day temporary license to allow time to register your Composite ID. During the 30-days you need to run getcid.exe(https://download.industrysoftware.automation.siemens.com/ugs_licensing/CID/), and note your COMPOSITE=9991234E0A00 (CID) value on the computer that is currently running License Manager. Once you have your Composite ID, connect to the License Management site, log in with your WebKey account, Click on the Composite Host ID button, click on the Enter CID button, enter the Composite ID and Host Name of the computer running License Manager, then click Submit. Or you may contact your Partner and or Customer Account Analyst (CAA) and provide the Composite ID so your permanent license may be generated.
