Hole Milling - Lead In, Lead Out

Achieving an engage that is linear and circular in fashion.
When selecting an 'Engage Type' of 'Circular' and using the out-of-the-box parameters, the sample path below shows a circular engage only.

Solution

In order to get a linear-circular combination:

• Edit the "Feature Geometry".
• Go to the "Feature" group.
• Edit the "Start Diameter" so it's slightly smaller than the feature "Diameter".
• Select "OK".
• Go to the Non-Cutting Moves.
• Select the "Engage" tab.
• Input "0.000" for the "Minimum Clearance".

Notes and References

To change the angle of the linear engage:

• Edit the Non-Cutting Moves.
• Select the 'Overlap' tab.
• Under the Overlap Distance, change the "Angle".
