Summary

Details

User has a situation where STEP assembly models are displayed with no color when opened in Solid Edge. The edges are displayed but the faces appear missing.  Why?

Solution

This is due to the STEP file being created with a transparent surface setting in the source software.
If the option in the STEP SURFACE_STYLE_TRANSPARENT is set to the value of '1' it will cause the models to appear transparent in Solid Edge.

The solution is to ensure that the STEP file is created without transparent models in the source software or to modify the STEP file so that SURFACE_STYLE_TRANSPARENT value is set to '0'.
