NX Importing NX CAM Native Template Parts into Teamcenter

Knowing the steps involved in importing the template parts moving from version to version in NX.

Solution

Files

• Open My Teamcenter.
• Select 'Edit-->Options'.

• Select the "Search" tab.

• In the Preferences List..."Search on Keywords"...input "TC_allow" (please see image below).
• Select "TC_Allow_Longer_ID_Name" from the "Name" column and verify the "Value" is set to "true".

Note: if the "Value" is not "true" … select "Edit" and change it to "true" (see image below).

• Start the TC Command Prompt from the Windows Start Menu.

• With the "command prompt" open, type in "set" and select "Enter" on the keyboard.

Note: Verify the following environment variables are set...

• UGII_BASE_DIR
• UGII_TMP_DIR
• UGII_TEMP_DIR

If any of the above do not exist, set them at this time. (please see example in image below).

• Locate tcin_cam_template_setup.bat in UGII_BASE_DIR\templates\sample
• Drag tcin_cam_template_setup.bat  from the File Explorer  window to the TC12 Command Prompt window (please see image below)..

• Place a space after the file name and input -u=username -p=password at the end of the line.

Note: Use your TC logon username and password.

• Select "Enter" and the import process will begin.
