Solid Edge Draft View Scale is shown after is dragged

A user finds that Drawing View scale is automatically shown after it is dragged to different location.

The original view is shown as below (without the Scale indication) and after the drag operation when the Scale annotation appears.

Solution

The behaviour is as designed.

This is a misunderstanding of the 'Show drawing view scale if different from sheet scale' option in Solid Edge Options -> Annotation tab for Draft files. When this option is checked the sheet scale display is automated. When the sheet scale is different than the drawing view scale then the Drawing View scale in the caption is forced to be displayed. This is done on redisplay of the drawing view like with force update of the drawing view or dragging the drawing view. If both scales are same the scale will not display.

This is an automated workflow for displaying the scale for some standards.

The workaround is to uncheck this option if you do not want the scale display (on/off) automated.
