Change of simulation features in Solid Edge 2020 Sept 3, 2019
Dear Solid Edge Customer,
We are contacting you because you currently have one or more licenses of Solid Edge Premium and/or Solid Edge Simulation.
• Solid Edge Premium (SE388 Node-locked/Floating)
• Solid Edge Simulation (SE385 Node-locked/Floating)
The simulation features of these products will be changing in Solid Edge 2020. As highlighted in the figure below:
+ Addition from previous Solid Edge Release
- Reduction from previous Solid Edge Release
If you are SE388 customer, the configuration of your product suite will be modified to add a new product called Solid Edge Simulation Legacy that will be at $0 cost and $0 maintenance charge for you. Solid Edge Simulation Legacy will contain all the simulation features that you had with SE 2019 and prior. This change will ensure that you continue to enjoy the simulation features with SE 2020 without incurring any additional cost.
If you are an SE385 customer, the configuration of your product suite will be modified to replace SE385, Solid Edge Simulation with SE387, Solid Edge Simulation Advanced our new and enhanced product. The maintenance cost on SE387 is marginally higher than SE385 commensurate with the higher value provided by SE387.
The above migration will occur automatically so there is no action required on your part. If for some reason you are not satisfied with the migration plan or if it does not meet your business goals, please work with your local VAR and we will do our best to accommodate your specific needs.
This correspondence replaces any prior correspondence Siemens may have sent to you regarding the change of simulation features in SE 2020.
