When trying to replace a Background sheet with another Background sheet from another Draft Template file, sometimes this will not work. What is the reason for this ?
Solution
Replace Background copies geometry from one file to another. If the geometry being copied is Block geometry, as Blocks are unique by name, you cannot have two different blocks of the same name in a single file. So if both files have the title block name, then the target document will not be replaced. An occurrence of the existing block is placed.
If you are going to use blocks on backgrounds in templates and later make changes to those blocks, then the block should be versioned. For example a block named 'Title' should be renamed to 'Title2'. Then when the block is copied into the file being updated, a new block 'Title2' will be created in the file and an occurrence of the new block will be placed replacing the old block 'Title'.
