When presented with a large number of .prt files for an assembly, how can it be determined which file is the top level assembly file, so it can be opened?
Solution
- In the NX Menu, select 'Information-->Assemblies-->Where Used..'.
- Use the Search Options to find the parent assembly.
- Set the Options drop-down to "All Levels".
- OK the Where Used Report dialog.
This will open an Information Window listing, where the component is used, the count, and the directory. This information can be used to track down the top level assembly.
