NX JT-files and Reference Sets

NX for Design

Summary

Details

We have a NX part file containing a solid body and a surface. The solid body is included in the MODEL reference set, which is the default reference set. The surface is NOT included in this reference set.

If we in NX turn on the save option "Save JT Data" and save the NX part file we get a JT file that only contains the solid body. (If you do this in native you get a JT file named "model_MODEL.jt", i.e. the reference set name is part of the file name)
This is as expected.

If we use the same NX part file and do File -> Export -> JT we get a different result. The surface is included in the JT file along with the solid body.

How do we accomplish the same result from an interactive JT export from NX as we do using the save option?

Solution

It is currently not possible to get only the contents of a specific reference set in NX into a JT file using File -> Export -> JT.
A possible workaround would be to Hide all geometry which is not included in the MODEL reference set. And then perform the JT export (provided tessUG.config parameter "includeInvisible = false", which is default value).
