How to sync "NX NAME" property with NX and Teamcenter BOM line.


Values entered in Teamcenter are reflected in NX, but the reverse is not reflected. Refer below use case-


1) Create and save a new assembly. The following is an example.
   Assy
   |_part
   |_part
2) Open the assembly with Teamcenter's Structure Manager.
3) Add "NX NAME" to the column.
4) Enter the value in the column "NX NAME" of the child part and save it.
5) Close the Structure Manager.
6) Open assembly with NX.
7) Open the property of the child part and confirm that the name of the general tab contains the same value as "NX NAME".
8) Change the value of the name of the general tab and save the assembly.
9) Close assembly with NX.
10) Open the assembly with Teamcenter's Structure Manager.
11) The value of the column "NX NAME" in the child part is not updated to the value entered in NX.

Solution

If you are running NX in Teamcenter Integration then click Apply Name to All Occurrences, then component name will also get updated in Teamcenter. However, if you click OK or Apply, then the component name is not updated in Teamcenter.


So, if you are running NX in Teamcenter Integration and wants the changes to be reflected in Teamcenter as well then in this case you have to click on "Apply Name to All Occurrences" and click OK or Apply, then component name will also get updated in Teamcenter. However, if you directly click OK or Apply without clicking "Apply Name to All Occurrences", then the component name is not updated in Teamcenter, it will get updated in NX only.


Refer below snaps and procedure-


1)      Open the assembly with Teamcenter's Structure Manager.

2)      Check the value of "NX NAME" in Teamcenter.

3)      Close the Structure Manager.
 
4)      Open assembly with NX.


5)      Open the property of the child part and confirm that the name of the general tab contains the same value as "NX NAME".



6)      Change the value of the name of the general tab and save the assembly.



7)      Close assembly with NX.
 
8)      Open the assembly with Teamcenter's Structure Manager.
 
9)      The value of the column "NX NAME" in the child part is now updated to the value entered in NX.
