NX Create and show description for layers

After creating a new layer category, how to add a description for the layer and how to display it.

Solution

In the Layer Settings dialog you can MB3 on any layer number, click on "Add to Category" --> "New Category", this will create a new category, e.g. Frames, with the chosen layer number as child.


If not visible, MB3 on the columns header and make sure that the "Description" is checked.
Then, MB3 on the "Frames" row --> "Edit Description" to add a description for this category, e.g. "TitleBlock".


This will be visible in the Layer Settings dialog, but in the Part/Assembly Navigator, the Layer column will only show the layer number, not its description.
