Customer was able to test connections with the localhost (1 PC running both Vicon Shogun and Process Simulate), and also remotely (1 PC running Vicon Shogun and 1 PC running Process Simulate). Now they are unable to perform motion capture on either the local host or a remote PC. The error received is "It was not possible to connect to the MoCap Device given the input parameters."
Using command prompt from a remote computer, customer is able to successfully ping the computer running the Vicon software.
If you are running Jack/Process Simulate on the same computer as Shogun, you just need to put in "localhost" in the IP section. The other option is "127.0.0.1".
If you are running Shogun on a separate computer, you will need to put in the IP address of that computer.
If this still does not connect, take a look a the firewall and make sure that Shogun port 801 is let through the Public, Private, and Domain Network permissions.
The primary cause for this issue was a firewall rule. The packet capture showed that a synchronize request was sent, but the acknowledge response was never sent back.
Also, it was determined that the firewall settings are turned to their default on status after a PC reboot.
Disabling the firewall and setting a static IP address on the Vicon side resolved this issue.
