Please be aware that we have received reports from customers where Solid Edge ST10 and Solid Edge 2019 fail to start with an 'application environment cannot be activated' error after installing the latest Windows 10 operating system -- version 1903 which was released by Microsoft on 21-MAY-2019.
We have many customers successfully running Solid Edge on Windows 10 version 1903. Therefore, if you are able to successfully run Solid Edge after installing to Windows 10 version 1903 no further action is required as you were not impacted.
UPDATE: This 'application environment cannot be activated' error has now been identified as being directly related to specific brands of anti-virus software. Completely uninstalling the anti-virus software will then allow Solid Edge to run without issue. The brands of anti-virus software identified with causing this issue are:
If you are experiencing the 'application environment cannot be activated' error after installing Windows 10 version 1903, the solution is to either replace your affected anti-virus program with a different working anti-virus solution e.g. Windows Defender or downgrade your workstation to an earlier version of the Windows 10 operating system. As this issue is directly related to third party anti-virus software you should also report this issue to your anti-virus software technical support.
