An error message appears when attempting to install Solid Edge maintenance pack 5:
"1152: Error extracting Solid Edge 2019.msp to the temporary location"
and then MP5 is not installed.
Solution
This can be caused by insufficient disk space to extract the MP files. Please check where %TEMP% is located, and clean up the disk which contains this folder.
Even, if you are in the administrator group, you must right click on "Solid_Edge_MSI_MP5.exe" and select "Run as administrator".
The file you downloaded may have been corrupted during the download due to a network malfunction. If you know someone with the correct file, you can compare files even if you are not in the same network. Although you cannot confirm that two files are identical because they have the same size there is another way to check whether they are identical with almost certainty using a checksum.
Microsoft provides a built-in tool "Certutil" to calculate the MD5 checksum value. By this way you will be able to compare 2 files on 2 machines which are on separate networks.
In the example below, the MD5 checksum value for the MP5 can be obtained by this way:
Open a command prompt in the directory where "Solid_Edge_MSI_MP5.exe" is located and run the
certutil tool to check the MD5 value. If you do not get the value "af5b2dec44ec84dde7a8b6ee5a0282da" , the file is corrupt.
certutil -hashfile Solid_Edge_MSI_MP5.exe MD5
