Solid Edge Fail to flip segment in opposite direction with Smap3D Plant Design and Solid Edge

The customer is working in Smap3D Plant Design and Solid Edge. They have designed a plant and need to do some changes in their design -- a very simple change to flip segment in opposite direction (due to piping interference with some equipment in the initial position). They are unable to do this and are surpried why piping segments do not allow to perform such a simple change.

 

Solution

In Solid Edge we do not allow the negative value for a dimension.

The workaround is:

1. Select the segment which is required to flip.

2. Go to properties of the segment.

3. Then dialog will come up showing start and end point co-ordinates.

4. Then change the co-ordinates of the required point.
