How to edit the color of one line of text contained in a multi-line text note?

Solution

NX offers a text control string to apply color to text. That string is <Kn> where "n" is the color number.

o To determine the ID number NX associates with the color you want to apply you can use either of the following methods:

 1) Information--> Object and select an existing object with the desired color. The Information window will report color for the object eg Color 186 (Red)

 2) Preferences--> Color Palette and select the desired color
The Selected Color panel will list the color ID (number) and Name

Now that we have the color ID number we can apply it to a selected portion of our multi-line text note.

o Double click the existing note to load it into the Note dialog

o Expand the Text Input panel

o Place the cursor before the text that you want to change the color

o Enter the text control start string eg. <K186>

o Place the cursor after the text where you want the color change to end and enter the color change termination string eg. <K>

For example a multi line note would look like this

This line of text uses the default color
<K186>This line of text will display as red<K>
This line of text will use the default color
