---------------
In the old interface of Import Assembly, if you use Import Numbering, Auto Translate, but want Exceptions, you would access Exceptions for Naming Exceptions and define New Naming rule.
NX10 has the new interface for import assembly into Teamcenter.
How can you set Import Numbering Exceptions?
Solution
1). First you need to unset the customer default in Teamcenter Integration for NX --> Import/Export Assembly --> Import --> "Automatically Assign Attributes to Parts when added to import". Restart NX, of course.
2). Select Assembly to add --> Set Numbering Source to OS Filename (same as Auto Translate) --> Conversion Rule to As ID and Revision.
3). In the Name and Attributes for Parts to Import --> double-click Item ID to manualiy edit the desired name, then do the same for Revision.
4). You can set the Numbering source to a different type, ie, Part ID Generator,(Auto Generate), for a different part --> In the Name and Attributes for Parts to Import --> Select a single row or multiple rows by clicking on row numbers,(or upper left corner to select whole table) and RMB --> Assign.
Note: Use Dry Run to make sure your choices are taken.
After editing the Item ID, you must also edit the Item revision, even though you want it to be the default, otherwise it won¡¦t take your edit of the Item ID.
