NX NXOpen: Modeler error: tag limit would be exceeded

When running an NXOpen program, the session returns the following error in the syslog: PK_ERROR_tag_limit_exceeded

Solution

This is a potential limitation of the Parasolid Kernel; there are roughly 2.5 billion tags available in the Parasolid Kernel. Unfortunately these tags are not reused and the potential exists to run out of available tags in the NX session. Currently, the only workaround is to save and close the part and reopen it, which should release all tags for use again.
