Deleting a dimension that has a Feature Control Frame associated to it results in the Feature Control Frame becoming retained (dashed). Rather than recreate the Feature Control Frame, it can be associated to a new dimension.
Solution
Use the following process to re-associate the Feature Control Frame to a new dimension:
1. Place the cursor on the Feature Control Frame to highlight it, and select right-hand mouse button command - '
Edit'.
2. In the '
Origin - Specify Location' section of the '
Feature Control Frame' dialog, select '
Origin Tool'. Select the '
Point Constructor' option and set '
Origin Location' to '
Inferred Point'. Select a location at the middle
(origin) of the Feature Control Frame. Select '
OK' and
'Close'. The Feature Control Frame is no longer associated to the original dimension and is displayed with a solid lines.
3. Select and drag the Feature Control Frame on to a different dimension to create an associative alignment.
