Component Properties allows the CALLOUT attribute to be modified at both the
'Instance' level and the 'Component' level. Situations where the CALLOUT
attribute has a different value at the 'Component' level vs. the 'Instance'
level can cause confusion.
How can the CALLOUT attribute be locked at the 'Component' level so it cannot
be modified and will always have the same value as the 'Instance' level?
Solution
Starting in NX10, there is a Customer Default that controls this:
1. Select 'File-->Utilities-->Customer Defaults'.
2. Expand 'Assemblies' and highlight 'General'.
3. Select the 'Instance Attributes' tab.
4. Toggle OFF 'Allow CALLOUT Attribute Override'.
5. OK the Customer Defaults dialog.
6. Re-start NX.
Now on the Component Properties dialog ('Attribute' tab), if the Context is
set to 'Component', the CALLOUT attribute is locked and cannot be modified.
However if the Context is set to 'Instance', the CALLOUT attribute is still
modifiable.
