How to place a box around the dimension value in Drafting. 
Or if this is a reference dimension, how to change the symbols that surround 
the dimension value from parentheses to brackets.



Solution

 Rectangular box around the dimension value: 
1. Hover the cursor over the dimension, 'MouseButton3 (MB3)-->Settings'. 
2. In the Settings dialog, highlight 'Tolerance'. 
3. Toggle the 'Type' to 'Basic'. 
4. Close the Settings dialog. 
The dimension will now have a rectangular box around the dimension.


Rounded box around the dimension value: 
1. Hover the cursor over the dimension, 'MouseButton3 (MB3)-->Settings'. 
2. In the Settings dialog, expand 'Text'. 
3. Under 'Text', highlight 'Format'. 
4. Toggle on, 'Show as Inspection Dimension'. 
5. Close the Settings dialog. 
The dimension will now have a rounded box around the dimension.


Changing the parentheses of a Reference dimension to brackets: 
1. Hover the cursor over the dimension, 'MouseButton3 (MB3)-->Settings'. 
2. In the Settings dialog, highlight 'Reference'. 
3. Toggle on, 'Show as Reference Dimension'. 
4. Toggle on, 'Custom Reference Text'. 
5. In the 'Before Reference Text' field, change the open parentheses to a open 
bracket. 
6. In the 'After Reference Text' field, change the close parentheses to a 
close bracket. 
7. Close the Settings dialog. 
The reference dimension will now have brackets around the dimension value 
instead of the parentheses.
