The NX environment is customized by setting variables in the UGII\ugii_env.dat file, using for example Notepad++. However when NX is started not all variables entered in the file are registered, even though the file is read. What is the problem?
Solution
Open the ugii_env.dat file in Notepad++ and toggle on "View --> Show Symbol --> Show All Characters". If the format of the file is correct each row should have a line feed (LF). Also check the status fields on the bottom right of the screen. The format should be "Dos\Windows" or "Windows (CR LF)".
If your file is different use "Edit --> EOL Conversion --> Windows Format" or "Edit --> EOL Conversion --> Windows (CR LF)". Now each row should have a line feed. Save the file and start NX. All variables should be registered.
It is suspected that certain applications that edits ugii_env.dat can cause the format change, for example a Space Mouse installer.
