In the Assembly Navigator, by performing a 'MouseButton3 (MB3) --> Isolate in
New Window' operation, NX created a new Model View titled: Isolate
How can the 'Isolate' Model View be deleted?
When attempting to delete the 'Isolate' Model View, the following message is
displayed:
A view currently in a layout may not be deleted
Solution
Once the 'Isolate' Model View is created, it is used by the current Layout. Any
view used in a Layout cannot be deleted.
However, the 'Isolate' view is only a temporary view for the NX session.
1. Save the part without saving the Layout.
A. 'File-->Save-->Save'.
2. Close the Part.
A. 'File-->Close-->All Parts'.
3. Re-open the part.
A. 'File-->Open' and select the part file to open.
In the Part Navigator, the 'Isolate' Model View will no longer be in the list
of Model Views.
If it is not possible to save, close, and re-open the file, then the following
can be used to delete the 'Isolate' Model View:
1. Save the current Layout without using the 'Isolate' Model View.
A. In the Part Navigator under 'Model Views', make sure the 'Isolate'
Model View is NOT the current "(Work)" view.
B. In the Menu, select 'View-->Layout-->Save'.
2. Open a different Layout.
A. In the Menu, select 'View-->Layout-->Open'.
B. Select the Layout, 'L2 - side by side'.
C. OK the Open Layout dialog.
3. Delete the 'Isolate' Model View.
A. In the Part Navigator, select the 'Isolate' Model View, 'MB3-->Delete'.
4. Switch back to the Single View Layout.
A. In the Menu, select 'View-->Layout-->Open'.
B. Select the Layout, 'L1 - single view'.
C. OK the Open Layout dialog.
