Details

---------------
A user is attempting to edit a part file that is used as a template. In the
Title Block, the attribute that is being used for the "Model Name" is
"W@$SH_PART_NAME". Using that attribute while in Teamcenter will add the
Revision to the end of the name, i.e "A-Size/A", customer wants the name but
no revision.

When attempting to edit the Title Block using "Edit Definition" the cells are
locked and can not be unlocked. How do you change the attribute?

Solution

The Lock symbol that display is a "lock w/screwdriver", and this indicates that
it is an Automatic Lock and can not be unlocked. This happens when a cell
contains more than one attribute, expression, or other object.

To change the Attribute, the Table needs to be removed from the Title Block.

To do this, edit the Title Block by selecting the Title Block --> MB3 --> Edit
Definition. Then select and highlight the "Tables" section of the dialog and
use 'Shift+Select' to deselect the table that contains the cell you need to
edit --> OK. Now that the Table is removed from the Title Block, you will be
able to double click in the cell and edit the text string;

 From: <C2.500><W@$SH_PART_NAME><C>"
 To: <C2.500><W@DB_PART_NO><C>

Select [Enter] to complete the edit.

To re-Add the table back to the Title Block, select the Title Block and
use "Edit Definition" again. Select and highlight the "Tables" section of
the dialog and select the Table that was edited. Select OK to complete the
edit.
