How to assign names to points (or other objects) and display those names.

Solution

To assign Names to your points and display those names.


o Set TYPE Filter to "Point"
o Select the points. Selection order will decide the number if that matters.
o With the cursor over any point MB3 --> Properties --> General tab
o Enter name prefix into Name field
o Toggle "Add index to name" and set starting index number
o Select OK to assign the names

To display the names:
o Menu --> Preferences --> Visualization --> View-> Decorations-> Names/Borders panel
o Set Show Object Names to "All Views" or appropriate setting --> OK
