How to add a PMI Chamfer dimension to a chamfer on a hole in the 3D model.
(The chamfer face cannot be selected.)

Solution

To add a PMI Chamfer dimension to the 3D model, it is necessary to create a (PMI) Section View in the model. To do this use the following procedure:

1. In the Part Navigator, expand the 'Model Views' list, make one of the default model views active (by double-clicking it), press mouse button three and select the menu option 'Create Section View'. (Or select the 'Section View' icon on the PMI ribbon bar.) Create a section view that passes through the center of the hole.

2. Select the Chamfer dimension icon on the PMI ribbon bar and select the section line on the chamfer face.
(Note: A Chamfer dimension can only be created on 45 degree chamfers. If the chamfer is not 45 degrees, use a combination of Angular and Linear dimensions to annotate the chamfer.)
