When a drawing has several direct components, additional drafting components
are added when a view is created directly of any of the components.
For example:
DrawingA
-Part1
-Part2
-Part3
If a drawing view is created of Part2, a drafting component of Part2 is added
to the Assembly Navigator. How can the drafting component creation be
prevented?
Solution
This can be accomplished be the following:
1. Make sure the Drafting Preference, 'Create Drafting Component' is
turned off.
2. In the Modeling application, suppress all other components.
If all other components are suppressed, then a view can be created of the only
unsuppressed component, without creating any additional drafting components.
Then once one view of that component is created, all other components can be
unsuppressed again. Because once the drawing has atleast one view of the
component, it will not create any drafting components when more views are
created of that component.
For example:
NOTE: Drafting Preference, 'Create Drafting Component' is turned off.
1. Switch to the Modeling application.
2. Highlight Part1 and Part3, 'MouseButton3(MB3)-->Suppression'.
3. Toggle 'Always Suppressed'.
4. OK the Suppression dialog.
5. Switch to the Drafting application.
6. Create a Base view of Part2.
A Base view will successfully be created on the drawing without adding
any additional drafting components.
7. Switch to the Modeling application.
8. Highlight Part1 and Part3, 'MB3-->Suppression'.
9. Toggle 'Never Suppressed'.
10. OK the Suppression dialog.
11. Switch to the Drafting application.
Even though all parts are now unSuppressed, since Part2 already has atleast
one view on the drawing, more views of Part2 can be created without creating
additional drafting components.
