NX Making a drafting view orientation associative

On occasion you may need to create a drawing view that would always orient in a specific direction in the drawing even though it may change orientation in the assembly.

Solution

When placing the base view on the drawing, use the 'Orient View Tool' icon from the Model View panel.



Ensure that the Associative Orientation toggle is ON and then pick an associative Normal Direction and X Direction to keep the view horizontal direction and normal direction fixed to the drawing at all times.
