How to change the arrow line length for 'Arrows Out' dimensions on an existing drawing?

The setting that determines the line length of dimensions with arrows outside the dimension extension lines can currently only be set via Customer Defaults.

('File --> Utilities --> Customer Defaults --> Drafting --> General --> Customize Standard --> Drafting Standard --> Annotation --> Line/Arrow --> Dimension Arrow Out Length Factor')

Solution

To change arrow line length for 'Arrows Out' dimensions on an existing drawing:

1. Make the required change via 'File --> Utilities --> Customer Defaults --> Drafting --> General --> Customize Standard --> Drafting Standard --> Annotation --> Line/Arrow --> Dimension Arrow Out Length Factor',

2. Use 'Save' (or 'Save As') to store the change to the Drafting Standard.
(I may be necessary to restart NX at this point.),

3. Open the existing drawing and the use the command 'Menu -> Tools -> Drafting Standard...' to select and 'Apply' the appropriate Drafting Standard,

4. Any new 'Arrows Out' dimensions added to the drawing will use the new 'Dimension Arrow Out Length Factor' setting.

(Note: This setting cannot be changed for existing dimensions, the dimension must be deleted and recreated.)

Notes and References

There is an enhancement request (ER 1961494) to add the 'Dimension Arrow Out Length Factor' option to the dimension 'Settings' dialog, to make it possible to change this value for existing dimensions.
