How can I prevent the "Check Mate Result" and other  pop-up dialog's from becoming nearly
translucent or transparent when the cursor is not over them?

Solution

Users can turn off "Windows" transparency. Disabling transparency affects all windows in NX and displays them as opaque when the cursor is not immediately over them.

The old "Legacy" interface requires users to select,  'Preferences -> User Interface -> (tab) Layout -> (uncheck the box) Enable Transparency.'

The new "Ribbon Bar" interface requires users to select, 'File -> Preferences -> User Interface -> Theme -> Transparency -> (uncheck the box) Enable Transparency for UI Components.'
