---------------

When creating a plsolid property using simple material constant entry,

the volumetric distortion constant (D1) has units of force/area.

When creating a general hyperelastic material the D constants have area/force

units. Which is correct and why is there an inconsistency?

Solution

For NX Nastran you enter the volumetric constants for both material methods

directly in units of force/area, ignoring the units specified on the simple

material constant form.

Other solvers such as Abaqus require the inverse value in units of area/force.

The NX CAE development staff is still deciding how to make the user interface

more consistent, given the inconsistency in various solver requirements.
