When revising files inside Solid Edge, the default location offered for the
new file honours the folders that are set up for the pre-release and release
areas in options -> file locations.
However, when doing this via Design Manager, the location of the existing file
is offered as the default.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Define the pre-released and released folder in Solid Edge options.
2. Open a released assembly in Solid Edge and revise it using the command on
the data management ribbon. Notice that the location is set to the correct
pre-released folder.
3. Now open an assembly in Design Manager and choose the revise option. Notice
that the folder is set to the same value as the existing location of the file.
Should the configured file locations not be offered as a default?
Solution
The Solid Edge Design Manager has its own Options and Settings. The file
locations settings are the same as Solid Edge.
In Solid Edge Options -> File Management, the Life Cycle option "Move documents
to the location specified in 'File Locations' for respective status" has to be
switched on for the Design Manager.
