During a new ST9 Solid Edge for Sharepoint Server Installation and also on
upgrading the server from ST8 the following message occurs and the SESP server
Initialize fails:
SharePoint Content Databases Information
The following permission(s) have not been granted to the "SESPUser"
user on the
1. "SESP_Database":
- Insert
- Select
- Update
Grant this permission(s) and then run "Initialize Solid Edge SP SQL
Server" utility again.
Refer the Solid Edge SP Implementation Guide for more details.
Solution
We have here two issues - one for the upgrade and one for a new installation.
In case of upgrading from ST8 to ST9 the "SESP_User" must firstly be configured
to the "SESP_Database":
1. Start Microsoft SQL Management Studio
2. Expand Security and Logins
3. Select sespuser with right Mouse button and open Properties
4. Select User Mapping
5. Look for SESP_Database and check the checkbox that the sespuser will be
mapped
=> result is Database:"SESP_Database"; User:"sespuser"; Default Schema:dbo
6. Activate the Database role membership for: SESP_Database Area the
"db_datareader" and "db_datawriter" by checking the checkbox
7. Accept with OK
Now the following is for both cases - the manual activation of the needed
permissions:
NOTE: During a new ST9 Solid Edge for Sharepoint Server Installation the
"SESPUser" is configured automatically to the "SESP_Database".
8. Expand Databases in the Microsoft SQL Management Studio
9. Select SESP_Database with right Mouse click
10. Open Properties
=> The "sespuser" is listed in the User or Role Area
11. Find and check each of the following:
- Insert
- Select
- Update
- Connect
12. Accept with OK
13. Run Initialize Solid Edge SP SQL Server
The Initialize should run now without any permission problems.
