How do you get Solid Edge Search to show only documents that have revision numbers?
Solution
To only display Solid Edge documents in Solid Edge Search that have Solid Edge revisions on them you must use a property named "Revision". To do this follow the steps below:
- Start the Solid Edge search from the file open dialog
- Set the folder location you wish to search in
- Now set your property to "Revision"
- Put in the criteria (IsNotEmpty). This will return every file that has had a revision in Solid Edge
- Click search and field is populated with the files in the designated folder location
The reason you have to use "revision" and not "revision number" is because in this dialog the revision number refers to the Microsoft revision number. Which is an integer that goes up every time you save the file.
