Details

Using a high resolution (4K) Monitor with Windows 7 the icons in the Solid
Edge Ribbons are not shown as expected even though 'Increase buttons on
Command Ribbon by 2x' is toggled on in the Solid Edge Options and the Windows
system scale is set to 150%. Why is this?

Solution

We implemented a major project in ST9 aimed at addressing 4K display issues.

Our solution, following the example that Microsoft set in their own products,
was to scale the user interface according to the system scale. The solution is
aimed at Windows 10, due largely to the inability of earlier versions of
Windows to handle scaling well. Customers running Windows 7 will not see
significant benefits from our changes.

It is not recommended mixing the 2x mode with the Windows scaling mode. That
has been retained for customers using earlier versions of Windows.

Upgrading to Windows 10 is probably the best solution.  On a monitor of this
size, running at a display scale of 200% would yield the best results.
