Summary

Details

In the situation where a user has 'Mach 1' and 'Mach 3' license bundles selected (via the 'Licensing Tool - Bundle Settings' dialog):
The 'Mach 1' bundle will (typically) be checked-out when NX is started and 'core' modeling functions (such as Sketch and Extrude) are used. If the user then selects an 'advanced' function (for example 'X-Form'), then the 'Mach 3' bundle will be checked-out and the 'Mach 1' bundle checked-in. (This is known as Automatic Bundle Consolidation.)

However, after finishing with the 'advanced' command the specific license feature will be checked-in, but the 'Mach 3' bundle itself (and the core license features within the 'Mach 3' bundle) will remain checked-out, even though only core modeling functions are now being used. NX does not automatically 'downgrade' the user to the 'Mach 1' bundle, this is to ensure they can access the advanced features again, should they be required. If there are limited numbers of 'Mach 3' bundles, the user can choose to relinquish the 'Mach 3' bundle and revert back to 'Mach 1', using the procedure outlined below.

Solution

The user can manually switch back to the 'Mach 1' bundle (assuming one is available) and return the 'Mach 3' bundle, without exiting NX, using the following procedure:

1. Select the 'Application' tab, then 'More - Gateway' (at this point all the 'Mach 3' bundle features will be checked-in, except for the 'gateway' feature and the bundle itself).

2. Select 'File - Utilities - Select Bundles...', the Licensing Options dialog shows the 'Mach 3' bundle at the top of the list, because it is the bundle currently in use. Select the 'Mach 3' (NX13100N) bundle and use the down arrow to move it below the 'Mach 1' (NX11110) bundle. Select 'OK'.
3. On the 'Application' tab, select 'Modeling'. When a core modeling command is selected, for example 'Edge Blend' the 'Mach 1' bundle with be checked-out and the 'Mach 3' bundle is checked-in, making available to other users.
