Custom UOM parts are loaded as Non-Geometric Components in assemblies.
In NX 11 with TC 11.3 parts are loaded as Non-Geometric Components.
User has to go to Properties and uncheck part is non-Geometric Component to load the part.
Solution
The value of the DB_UNITS will determine if a component is non-geometric.
If DB_UNITS has a value other than each or null, then the component is marked as non-geometric.
Preference TC_NX_Unit_Of_Measure_As_Geometric_List being introduced in NX6.0.3.
A non-geometric component is used to represent a BOM line that does not have any geometric definition, such as paint and oil. Non-geometric components do not need to have NX datasets. If a non-geometric component has an NX dataset that contains geometry, the geometry is not displayed in NX. If the non-geometric component has child components, they are ignored by NX. Non-geometric components are represented the same as geometric components in the parts list.
In the Assembly Navigator, right-click on a component and choose Properties to change the non-geometric status.
To turn on and off the display of non-geometric components in the Assembly Navigator, right-click in the Assembly Navigator (not on a column or a component) and toggle Include non-Geometric Components. Alternatively, choose Menu?Tools?Assembly Navigator?Include Non-Geometric Components.
A reference only component cannot be made non-geometric.
In the Teamcenter Structure Manager, use the UG_GEOMETRY column to control non-geometric status. NO indicates the component is non-geometric; YES or blank (no value) indicates the component is a geometric component.
