How to control the decimal places of an attribute that references an expression value?



Solution

1. Select 'File-->Properties' and go to the 'Attributes' tab.
2. Title/Alias = Test123 
Enter any Title Alias desired. It may be desired to name the attribute similar to the referenced expression.
3. Data Type = String
4. Toggle 'Expression Formula'.
5. [Important] In the Expression Formula field, clear the contents so there are no double quotes ("").
6. Toggle the Expression Formula field to 'Reference-->Formatted Expression'.
7. For 2 decimal places; Format = .2 For 3 decimal places; Format = .3
8. Scroll and select the expression to reference.
9. OK the Relationships dialog.
10. Click the green checkmark to add the attribute.
The attribute is created using only the number of decimal places specified in step 7.
