Before starting NX the user selects a '
Mach 1' and '
Mach 2' bundle (in that order) using the '
Licensing Tool - Bundle Settings' dialog. The expectation is that the '
Mach 1' bundle will be used first. However, when NX is started, the '
File - Utilities - Select Bundles' dialog shows the '
Mach 2' bundle listed first, with the '
Mach 1' second, the reverse of the order defined via the Licensing Tool. (The license server log file confirms that the '
Mach 2' bundle has been checked-out, rather than the '
Mach 1'.)
Solution
In this case, the '
Mach 2' bundle is checked out because the user has the '
PMI' application enabled.
As a consequence, NX checks out the required (
geometric_tol) license feature on start-up. This feature is not available in the '
Mach 1' bundle and therefore the '
Mach 2' bundle is checked out. (The bundle list displayed in '
Licensing Options - Selected Bundles' shows the '
Mach 2' bundle at the top, because it is the one that is currently in use.)
This behavior is controlled by the customer default '
Restore PMI Application', which is enabled by default. To disable this option, use '
File - Utilities - Customer Defaults - PMI - PMI General - Miscellaneous' and
uncheck the '
Restore PMI Application' option. In subsequent NX sessions the '
Mach 1 ' bundle will be checked out on start-up, rather than the '
Mach 2' bundle.
