Summary

Details

Pre-NX1847, manual text could be entered in a drafting dimension using the command in the Menu, 'Edit-->Annotation-->Text'.  In NX1847 and later versions, this command is not displayed.

Solution

This command is currently hidden but can be added back to the toolbars using the 'Customization' command.
1. Once in the Drafting application, in the Menu, select 'Tools-->Customize'.
2. Under Categories, expand 'Menu-->Edit' and highlight 'Annotation'.
3. Use the mouse to drag and drop the command 'Text (to be retired)...' back into the menus or ribbon toolbar to the desired location.
4. Close the Customize dialog.

In NX1899 onward the the dimension text can be over-ridden.
 1. Highlight the dimension.
2.  Select Settings.
3. On the left Scroll down to  Text and expand.
4.  Highlight Format.
5. On the right, check the 'Override Dimension Text' option.
6. An alert will display about converting the dimension to Manual text.
7. Enter the new dimension text and select Close.
