For PMI Section: even after selecting a part, section is not created. 

Solution

While creating PMI Section, check the Section options. By default, 'Cut hardware' option is unchecked. If your part is marked as 'Hardware Part', section will not be created for this part. Once checked the 'Cut hardware' then hardware parts also considered for section.


 We can define hardware part by checking option 'Hardware part' from File Properties-Project tab.
