The number of the item in Teamcenter used to store the NX template files used in the File > New dialog was previously defined using the Teamcenter preference TC_NX_FileNewPAXFiles_NX12 or similar.
What is the format for the TC preference TC_NX_FileNewPAXFiles in NX1847 and later versions and does this need to be changed for every monthly update or Functional release?
Solution
As described in FAQs 002-7008918, 002-7002761 and 002-7003949, there is a Teamcenter preference defining the item ID for the version specific PAX files in Teamcenter Integration for NX.
This preference includes the versions number at the end.
For example:
TC_NX_FileNewPAXFiles_NX11
TC_NX_FileNewPAXFiles_NX12
For NX continuous release starting with NX 1847 this preference can be used without a version appended, meaning the TC preference TC_NX_FileNewPAXFiles can be set without a specific version at the end and will be used by all versions whether they are monthly updates (e.g. NX 1855) or major Functional releases (NX 1872).
i.e.
TC_NX_FileNewPAXFiles
If required, the version specific preference can still be used with NX Continuous release, and will use the format
TC_NX_FileNewPAXFiles_NX1847
The four digit number at the end will need to match the monthly update or major version you are using:
e.g.
TC_NX_FileNewPAXFiles_NX1855
TC_NX_FileNewPAXFiles_NX1867
TC_NX_FileNewPAXFiles_NX1872
The preference using the version specific format will take precedence over the version less preference.
