After creating a new item in Teamcenter via File > New > Item, select an item type that is different than the type defined by TC_default_part_type, assign ID/Rev/Name. Select the Item Revision of this new item to sent to NX.
NX outputs the message:There are no templates available to support the operation you are trying. Either turn on the show blank templates customer default or add the templates to the pax file to support this operation.
Prior to NX11.0.2, the template dialog would show up allowing the user to select a template to continue. In NX11.0.2 this is no longer the case.
Solution
There is an enhancement in NX11.0.2 where NX only shows templates that match the item type created in Teamcenter:TC_default_part_type
If there is no template that refers to the item in the database that is of that item type defined by TC_default_part_type, then NX will not show any template thus fail with that message.
User may edit the model pax file and set the <ItemType> option to either "Any" or the desired type(s).
